My mother first introduced me to the term synchronicity when I was around fourteen years old. We had this special tradition where we would bring a newly learned word home every day to share with each other. On that day, synchronicity stuck with me—and it has shaped my life ever since. It has become more than just a word; it is a lens through which to view the world, pushing me to stop and actively seek deeper connections with others beyond the surface of casual conversation. Now, I live each day with an openness to these moments, always looking for that meaningful link between experiences and people.
Synchronicity, a theory formed by Carl Gustav Jung, is the concept of meaningful coincidences that seem to defy logic or chance, revealing a hidden connection between seemingly unrelated events. It is the universe’s way of nudging us, aligning moments that feel significant, as if guiding us toward deeper understanding or purpose. Whether it is encountering a long-lost friend just when you were thinking about them or finding a book that answers the very question you have been pondering, synchronicity reminds us that life’s mysteries often unfold in ways we cannot predict, but cannot ignore.
It is not just about where we are now, but about the paths we have taken, the obstacles we have overcome, and the triumphs we have celebrated along the way. Synchronicities play a powerful role in this, as they often highlight the hidden connections between our lives. By embracing these meaningful coincidences, we can better understand how our stories intertwine, forming deeper, more authentic relationships that go beyond the surface. Together, we can explore how these synchronicities guide us on our journeys.
Embarking on this new journey into the world of podcasting is both exhilarating and frightening. At 45, my journey has been one of loss, transition, and growth, shaped by experiences across many industries. From working in restaurants to healthcare and hospice care to managing businesses and embracing the challenges of entrepreneurship, I have learned just enough to be dangerous (wink), and life has been my greatest teacher.
Each step along the way has helped me embrace my unique path, finding strength in resilience and adaptability. These experiences have guided me toward a deeper understanding of both the challenges and the beauty of life, shaping who I am today and I am ready to share that with you.
I am a true believer about being present in the moment and have lived the better part of my life acknowledging that. I choose to share my story with you and expose my vulnerabilities because doing so can foster deeper connections and create a sense of shared humanity. When we open up about our challenges, struggles, and triumphs, we allow others to see us as we truly are—flawed, resilient, and real.
This vulnerability can inspire others who are facing similar experiences, reminding them they are not alone. Sharing my story also empowers me, turning moments of difficulty into sources of strength and reflection. Ultimately, it is about building bridges through authenticity, creating opportunities for mutual understanding, empathy, and meaningful connection. It is important to do this now.
I was born and raised in Michigan and will let you in on my story and more about the purpose of Life Between Coasts in the first episodes.
Hello. I’m Lex. I am 28 years old, a creative consultant, and the proud single mom of a wonderful 5-year-old boy who keeps me on top of my game. My life is a blend of creativity, constant learning, and plenty of laughter. You will probably hear me giggle in the background or throw in a playful mom joke, but most of the time, I am working behind the scenes, handling editing, marketing, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Over the years, I have dipped my toes into many fields, but I have found my calling as a creative consultant. My work allows me to support and guide others in a variety of areas, whether it is in the realms of art, herbal medicine, web design, computer hardware, hair design, digital editing, or social media.
I love helping people bring their ideas to life, no matter how big or small. Learning is at the heart of everything I do—I am always enrolled in some kind of educational program, and you will rarely catch me without a book or my Kindle in hand. My guilty pleasure is the Real Housewives (I confess I am watching every show from the very first episode) or any show that has Lisa Vanderpump in it. Love her!
Born and raised in Detroit, I have seen the highs and lows of life. I have lost friends to tough circumstances, but I have also watched others rise and create something incredible for themselves. I have tried, failed, succeeded, and then tried again. The unknown does not scare me; I welcome it, running toward it with curiosity and a drive to learn more. I always keep moving forward, embracing the unknown as opportunity, with optimism.
I am eager to know what life is like for you between the coasts, between the big moments, and everything in between. Let us explore those stories together.
